Nax's BBQ
5.69 - 7, 6.5, 6, 6, 6, 6, 4, 4
I don’t know about you, but I kind of like this mystery thing.
May brought all eight of us over the river (the Hudson , that is – a real
river) and down the road a ways to the picturesque area of Red Hook.
The hope was that everyone was in the mood for some down home barbecue
cooking at Max’s.
The up side – I think we all rose to the occasion
and some of us even ordered a bit more adventurously than we might normally
otherwise. The barbecue was great
(especially the pulled pork), as were the coordinating side dishes.
I was informed that Kenny had Key Lime Pie for the first time in his
life. How had he gotten this far in
life without it???
The down side – I hate to always make this an
issue, but for some reason, alcohol seems to come into the picture.
Apparently, the restaurant is know for their margaritas but, upon
requesting a pitcher for all of us (you know how thirsty you can get after a
long car ride), we were sadly informed that you couldn’t get a pitcher of
margaritas. Oh well, I don’t
really believe anybody went thirsty…
